Challenge 3 and 4 for Girls’ Night In

Here are my final two challenge entries for Jayne Mercer’s Girls’ Night In. The first is a darling little watering can that featured in the Splitcoast Stampers Newsletter last week, and I never would have made it otherwise! The second is a card based on a sketch and it is mainly pink although it has a Christmas theme so I cheated a little bit with the colours!

Girls Night In Challenges

Jayne Mercer is having a Girls Night In to raise money for Breast Cancer and she has issued some challenges, here is my entry for Challenge 1. The challenge is to use either the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalgogue or the Spring Mini catalogue and turn one of the inspirational cards or layouts PINK.  So I chose the lovely layout in the first page of the Spring Mini.  Hope you like it.  It is a photo (printed very badly) of  my niece Katie.  I hope she likes it, it is an 8×8 page but i may still mount it on a 12×12 piece of cardstock for my album.

The Best is Yet to Be

How did it get to be July already!!!!

Ok so I am a bad bad blogger!  But I thought I would show you a few things I have done lately.  Now there is quite a lot because as I look back I don’t feel like I have done that much but I actually have – now I am sure there are too may words in there but it is late on a Friday night.  So here goes

So that is my recent creative history in a nutshell – I am hoping to do a lot more once the kids are back at school – stay tuned!!

Happy Loving Day!

This is how the child of one of my Elite Stamper buddies described today and I think it is fantastic!! So in honour of this day I did make a card to give to my husband.  I was mucking around with some ATCs I am making for a swap and while I was cleaning my aqua painter I noticed a lovely pattern appearing on my grid paper.  It looked so pretty I thought I would try it on some watercolour paper and this card is the end result.  I hope he liked it!  I was very lucky and received a Pandora bracelet this morning, I love them and now thanks to my lovely valentine I have one!

 So here is the card

Nieces Birthdays

Here are a couple of cards I made this morning for my nieces, whose birthday brunch we are attending tomorrow morning.  Katie is 6 (a couple of weeks ago) and Mia will be 2 next week.  The boys love playing with Katie, especially Alex as they are the same age.

So I cheated a little bit with the cards as I used some Basic Grey patterned paper, my other addiction (apart from Stampin’ Up!) is Basic Grey – I just love their products! I also cheated by making them the same card but I did really like the design.

So here they are.

dscf6326_edited.jpg

I used Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow and Vintage Violet cardstock.  The ‘K’ and ‘M’ are from the Big Deal Alphabet and Beyond the Basics set for the background, using Elegant Eggplant and Pixie Pink ink.  One thing I really like about the Colour Families is that they do blend well even outside the family.  I would normally use the same ink and cardstock for the background to make it subtle but in this case I didn’t have the Rose Red ink so I had to use Pixie Pink, and it still works!

If you would like to know more about any of the products you see here please email me logan@unwired.com.au

I am hoping to start classes soon so I will keep you up to date with that, also don’t forget that the Summer Mini and Sale-A-Bration are still on so check out the website for the catalogues!

Two posts in one day!

Well, not really as I wrote the last one the other day and am just publishing it now!

My two boys started at a new school this week! I am very proud of them because they are both settling really well.  It will take a few weeks for us all to get used to the new school but I am feeling really good about our decision to change.

Ok on to some cards, I made these the other evening one RAK and one for a birthday
dscf6303.jpg

This card uses, Barely Banana, Not Quite Navy, Gable Green and Watercolour cardstock.  I stamped the image from the Blooming with Happiness hostess set with black Stazon ink and then coloured it in using the aqua painter and Rich Regal Wonder Watercolour Crayons.

This card I have made for an upcoming birthday of a friend of mine.  I have used two of the In Colours – Vintage Violet and Marigold Morning, along with Old Olive and Watercolour cardstock.  Again used black Stazon and Wonder Watercolour Crayons.  I am really loving this watercolouring – can you tell?? LOL!

Pay it forward RAK

This past week we at Elite Stampers have been participating in a ‘pay it forward’ RAK where we sign up to send a RAK (in this case a card) to the person below us on the list.  Now we can send RAKs at any time but this got me moving and I have sent of a couple of RAKs to some of the lovely women with whom I chat on the forum.

So I am going to show you the cards now.  I recently purchased the French Script Background Stamp from Stampin’ Up! I have loved this stamp for a long time and admired it on many many cards but for some reason had not bought it.  So I am very glad I did and you will no doubt seeing popping up on many creations.

dscf6295.jpg

I have also done some watercolouring on this card using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Crayons, I have the Rich Regals set and the colours are so gorgeous.  I have stamped the flower, stem and leaf from my new set which will be released to you guys in April, with black Stazon ink onto the watercolour cardstock and then used my Aqua Painter to do the watercolouring.  Not bad for my first attempt I think!  I have layered the card using Lovely Lilac for my card, then the image is on Perfect Plum and Sage Shadow each of them is inked around the edges, I stamped the background in Lovely Lilac ink too! I really enjoyed making this card as I was just playing really and having which is what this is all about.

The next card I made after using the leftover watercolour cardstock, same stamp set but using the big flower stamp and pretty much the same process as above.

The ribbon I have used on both cards is from the Summer Mini Catalogue (out now), they are from the Ribbon Originals Flirty range.  A great mix with so many of our products.

If you would like to order from the mini catalogue please contact me and don’t forget for every $100 you spend you can choose one free stamp set from our Sale-a-Bration catalogue.

Now here are some cards I have made recently.

dscf6272.jpg

This card is made using Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White cardstock, stamp sets include Best Bar Codes from the Summer Mini and Eat Cake.  I have embossed the Bar Code Happy Birthday image in silver and have also used some of the scrumptious wide grosgrain ribbon in Chocolate Chip. If you would like to have more information about any of these products or how I made this card please contact me.

Once again I have used the Eat Cake stamp set for this Birthday card for my friend Dana, we figured out last night that we have known each other for about 15 years – time has surely flown by!  I have used Basic Black, Almost Amethyst and Whisper White cardstock and some gorgeous silver cord. I have used my trusty Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool and Silver embossing powder.  I also stamped the cake image on the envelope.  The Happy Birthday is from the Happy Everything stamp set – a very versatile set that covers so many occasions.

The following card has been made using a set that we received as a Thank you from Stampin’ Up!  It was a lovely surprise and came with a lovely note from our cofounder and CEO Shelli Gardner.

The set is called Time Well Spent and will be available in our next catalogue.  I have coloured the stamps in using the Stampin’ Write Markers in Bold Brights. This allowed me to easily colour all the letters different colours. I have used Cool Carribean and Whisper White cardstock. I also used Red gingham and Red grosgrain ribbon.

School Holiday Card Making!

Some might say that this is a difficult thing to do but when you have a holiday house at your disposal and children who go to bed well it is easy to sit down and do some creating.  So here are my latest cards.  I also did some scrapping a while ago and will put some pics here of those too soon.

2007_1012001.JPG

This card was made using the images I created while stampin’ off for the card three below. I used the leftover images and cardstock and it came together very quickly – I love that about card making!

2007_1012002.JPG

This card is an idea I have used often in scrapping and I just decided to make a card in the same way – very very simple and again made with scraps.

2007_1012004.JPG

This card is made using one of the Level One hostess sets – ‘Reasons to Smile’. It is a lovely set and so pretty.

2007_1012003.JPG

This card I CASEd from the technique booklet - just the design layout really, it is simple yet effective.  This is the card I was stampin’ off for (mentioned above)

Another butterfly – different colours same idea.
