Today my parents have been married for 40 years! We had an Anniversary party last night for them with family and friends. Mum and Dad invited all the guests but we (the kids) did the rest. My sister did all the food which was fantastic and I organised the decorations including a cake with a photo on it. Here is the photo I used on the cake which I knew was my Mum’s favourite wedding photo! It is my favourite too! My Dad looks a bit nerdy and a bit Buddy Holly but Mum is just stunning.
I also made (on my Dad’s request) a thank you postcard to give to each of the guests as a momento of the night. Everyone seemed to have a good time and it was nice to see some old family friends – my Mum’s best friend of 60 years who was also her Bridesmaid was there too!
I am pretty impressed really – 40 years is a long time to be married – so Congratulations Mum and Dad!
This is the title page for a mini album (8×8) I am making for a friends daughter (pretty sure she doesn’t know I have a blog so it should be safe showing it here!!)
I have used the Big Deal Alpha Stamp set – great for those scrapbookers out there. I have used it on most of the layouts for the album so far and am loving it! The ink used is Lovely Lilac (one of my new favourite colours) the flower is from non SU! pp but can’t remember who!
I will show some more once I have finished. Her birthday and christening was last weekend (a bit late with this one!) so I hope to get it to her very soon.
Well as promised I have made a card using one of the new sets from the mini catalogue.

I have used the Wishing You Stamp Set – I really love the three main images as they have so many different uses. Great for this years Christmas cards.
I have used Certainly Celery, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa cardstock, Chocolate Gosgrain Ribbon, Ruby Red, Elegant Eggplant, Close to Cocoa and Certainly Celery Classic Ink.
I also have another set from the mini but am yet to play with that one. I have however had some fun with the Happy Everything Stamp Set (pg 113 Idea Book and Catalogue). I have wanted this set for ages. I have CASED the card from the book with a couple of adjustments.

I still have some Mini Catalogues available (in fact I bought some more as I had so many requests!!) So please email me or leave a comment here if you would like one.
I would also like to invite anyone interested in joining Stampin’ Up! to please contact me. I am writing this here again because if like me you love to scrap or stamp or craft then this would be the company for you and because of the very reasonable start up costs anyone can do it and you can start to earn money straight away or even just get a discount for your own craft needs. I have found Stampin’ Up! to be a great company to work for and the team that I am a part of has a wonderful support network through a forum just for us – so that means that for a stamping novice like me there is not just my wonderful upline to answer my questions but her whole team so there are always many wonderful ideas and answers to my questions. So if you have been thinking about it or maybe not but are now then send me an email.
Great news!! There is a new Mini Catalogue out now from Stampin’ Up! and you can view it here, it is full of gorgeous new stamp sets, punches and patterned paper, with heaps of fabulous card and layout ideas. There are 3 lovely Christmas sets too so if you are already starting to think about making your Christmas cards you should check it out. I have placed an order and will have some samples up on my blog next week. I can’t wait for my goodies to arrive!
There is also a fantastic special running from now until 15th September for hostesses. If you host a workshop (real or virtual) and reach $600 in sales (easy with the mini catalogue in your possession!!) you can choose a free stamp set from a choice of 3 sets all valued at over $50! On top of the already fabulous hostess rewards. So if you would like to know more just email me at email@example.com
On a personal note – we have survived the basic skills tests – held in NSW every year for students in Years 3 & 5. I say ‘we’ because it took all my energy to get Sam to school for both of these tests! Also I have been doing a 6 week fitness program which comes to an end this Saturday and today I managed to run (yes run!) for 45mins around Manly Dam – I was so pleased with myself and plan to continue the regime in order to keep up with my ever growing sons!
A great weekend coming up with scrapping with friends tomorrow night, dinner at a fabulous japanese restaurant, Goe Mon in Mosman, with new and old friends on Saturday night (with possibly more scrapping during the day) and then on Sunday a christening and 1st birthday party for the darling Emelia. Looking forward to it all!!! Especially if this unseasonal warm weather continues.
