New Mini Catalogue from Stampin’Up! and Hostess Special

Great news!! There is a new Mini Catalogue out now from Stampin’ Up!  and you can view it here, it is full of gorgeous new stamp sets, punches and patterned paper, with heaps of fabulous card and layout ideas.  There are 3 lovely Christmas sets too so if you are already starting to think about making your Christmas cards you should check it out.  I have placed an order and will have some samples up on my blog next week.  I can’t wait for my goodies to arrive!

There is also a fantastic special running from now until 15th September for hostesses.  If you host a workshop (real or virtual) and reach $600 in sales (easy with the mini catalogue in your possession!!) you can choose a free stamp set from a choice of 3 sets all valued at over $50!  On top of the already fabulous hostess rewards.  So if you would like to know more just email me at

On a personal note – we have survived the basic skills tests – held in NSW every year for students in Years 3 & 5.  I say ‘we’ because it took all my energy to get Sam to school for both of these tests!  Also I have been doing a 6 week fitness program which comes to an end this Saturday and today I managed to run (yes run!) for 45mins around Manly Dam – I was so pleased with myself and plan to continue the regime in order to keep up with my ever growing sons!

A great weekend coming up with scrapping with friends tomorrow night, dinner at a fabulous japanese restaurant, Goe Mon in Mosman, with new and old friends on Saturday night (with possibly more scrapping during the day) and then on Sunday a christening and 1st birthday party for the darling Emelia.  Looking forward to it all!!!  Especially if this unseasonal warm weather continues.

 Hope you are all well.

What have I been up to?

Well a lot actually.  I have been very very busy but have managed to get some card making and scrapping done!

In the last week we have also celebrated Sam’s 9th Birthday and our 10th Wedding Anniversary! For Sam we had a low key gathering at my parents house – but it did have lollies and cake and presents – so that is the most important thing!

For us we went out to dinner in Manly last night and had some very yummy food.

I have been having a lovely time with my Stampin’ Up business and would love to welcome Lea Adcock to my team!  Lea lives in Adelaide and is a wonderful scrapbooker/stamper and teacher.  It is very exciting to have my first team member.  I would love to add more talented stampers and scappers to my team – so if you are interested at all just drop me a line and I will tell you all about it.

So onto a few pics of my latest crafting.

I love these photos of Alex swimming in my parents pool. On this page I have also used the Big Deal Alpha by Stampin’ Up – I did this one while at retreat in Adelaide and borrowed it from my lovely friend Donna.  I have now ordered it as part of my Stampin’ Start free stamp sets.  So I can’t wait for it to arrive!

This page above is actually for my Aunt’s 50th Birthday – her daughter has asked all the guests to bring something for her – either a poem, card, scrapbooking page etc. So I took the challenge and this will be added to a scrapbook at her party. I love the photo and it was perfect for a significant birthday. I have used all Stampin’ Up! products including the ‘All about you’ stamp set.

The page above I also did at retreat in Adelaide. The photo is from Sam’s confirmation and I really loved it. Gotta love the BG and the HS letters – I went for a subtle look for such an important occassion.

Now for some cards. I have been having lots of fun but I can’t show you all of them as many of the cards I have made are for upcoming birthdays and I don’t want to show them yet.

So here is the card I made for Sam’s Birthday and also our Anniversary. Pete was very tricky with his – he actually stole one of my cards and wrote me a lovely poem – he defended his thieving by saying ‘he knew I would like it as I had made it’ LOL!!!

Stampin’ Up! is having a great promotion for August. All you need to do is spend $50 and you receive 25% off with the Watercolour Pencils or Watercolour Wonder Crayons. So let me know if you would like to order anything.

More big Stampin’ Up! news is here too – A new Mini Catalogue will be released in August – so if you would like to receive one for free just email me and I will post one out to you. There are some fabulous new stamp sets as well as some wonderful patterned paper and accessories.

So that is all for now but I promise to be here more often from now on.

Over a month!

Well I have been very naughty and not getting to my blog at all so apologies to all those who come to visit and see the same old post over and over again.

This is just a quick pop in to say that I will be back on board on a least a weekly basis very shortly – I am off for the weekend scrapping and have not done anything for a month so I will upload my scrapping and all the goss about the retreat – seems so long ago – and Stampin’ Up too!

So once again aoplogies and hope you are all doing well.

Almost a week!

Well it has been almost a week since I posted anything – so what has been happening?  Last Thursday and Friday were pretty normal days, kids, housework etc but then Saturday morning arrives with Alex in our bed at around 6.30am.  Pete eventually decides he will take Alex to the beach so Sam and I can sleep in but then Sam wakes up and they are all going.  It was such a beautiful morning that I decide to go too!!  So by 7.30am we were all down at Manly walking along the beach heading for the Corso and some breakky.  We saw a wedding at around 8am (breakfast wedding!?!) and then wandered back to Queenscliff for a swim (not me, the boys and Pete). I went for a long walk and then the boys just played on the beach for a while and finally we decide we better go home for some lunch.  We had been at the beach all morning!!  It was fantastic and we all had the best time.

We then spent the afternoon at the school working bee – I can tell you we were all in bed pretty early!

On Sunday we had friends over for lunch and we all sat out the front in the sun and ate lots and chatted and all the kids and babies were very good.  Little Madeline even fell asleep on the table – very cute!

We then headed to the beach for a play with one of Alex’s school buds but it got a bit windy – mind you the boys all went for another swim!!  Gotta love Sydney weather!
As I type this it is another stunning day! Sam and I are off to see the OT today for an assessment so that should be good.

So I will attempt to start my Circle Journal that I am doing with the girls at The Scrappers Hub as I am running behind and need to send it on.  I have never done one before so hope it works out ok!!

This is the moon over Manly late last week – I think Thursday night!

Some Pretty Pics!! Well one is anyway…

So the 1st May has come and gone – I was at work yesterday but today had a catch up day – doing bits and pieces that never seem to get done.  It still looks like nothing has been done around here though! LOL!

These pictures are of my monkeys on top of the car (which they are not supposed to do) but who can resist a photo!  Note Alex’s skeleton top (which is actually his pyjama top) he wore it for a couple of days straight!  It glows in the dark, so can you blame him?

This pitcure is the pretty one – sunset as seen from the front yard.  We are very lucky to live here!

So I promised you some pretty pictures and when I said it I meant cards or scrapping layouts but I haven’t had time to do any – well I could have last night but was having too much fun watching Fifi Box on Dancing with the Stars – shame she didn’t win but Kate Cebrano was great too!

Speaking of TV – Jade MacRae (my brother’s girlfriend) will be one of the professional singers on “It Takes Two” again this season, so be watching on Tuesday 8th May to see her in action – it was a great show last year!

Busy busy busy!!!  That is how most of our weekends are.  We had a fairly normal day Saturday with a trip to the mall – along with the rest of the Northern Beaches – because when you can’t go to the beach you go to the mall!  We did spend our vouchers at JB Hi Fi and bought the new Missy Higgins CD which is very good.  We also bought the latest James Bond movie Casino Royale – it is excellent – if you haven’t seen it and like 007 watch it!!

Today Sam played AFL and their team won – it was a glorious day in Sydney and it was really warm.  Alex had fun playing with the other younger siblings (girls!!).  We then headed home but didn’t really make it as we stopped in at our neighbours and then ended up having a BBQ at another mutual friends house – great great afternoon!  But it wasn’t finished yet – we headed down to Manly for the last hour of daylight and the boys and Pete ended up swimming!! Last weekend in April and they were enjoying the surf, and of course the trip to Manly wouldn’t have been complete without Fish n’ Chips!! Yummo!

So a great weekend!

I hope to get some cards made this week after a great training session with Angela on Friday but with the way our weekends turn out there never really is any time.  So maybe this week won’t be as busy as it is looking and I can put some pretty pictures up for you.

Today is a day to remember all those who fought in wars and although I know this is a day of significance it has never been a big part of my life – I think that is due to not having anyone in my family who fought in any wars (including Granparents etc), however I did know the father of an old friend, who signed up for WWII at the age of 16 – lied about his age and left his small country town and went off to war – he fought in Timor and was still a teenager at the end of the war.  I haven’t seen him for years but remember well his stories and I hope that he is still fighting fit today.

We had a slow start to the day – with the weather not condusive to going out, the boys and I played at home while Pete went out briefly.  Sam put Alex and I to the test with maths and writing and drawing tests, he played quiz master and took great pleasusre in marking us (kindly) and giving us our scores with updates after every challenge!  We did brave the weather this afternoon for some shopping at the mall and then an early dinner with friends.  A very nice way to end the day – it very much feels like Sunday though.  Back to the routine tomorrow with school and the first day of helping to read with Alex’s class – should be interesting!!

We have finally booked flights to NZ for Christmas – this will be our first Christmas with Pete’s family – which is pretty slack after 11 years together but we will be staying  in Auckland with Pete’s sister and cannot wait!!! Bargain flight prices too!

I have taken up the challenge over at Elite Challenges for their first sketch challenge, I will add the photo here but go over and have a look as the cards by the other ‘Elite Stampers’ are wonderful.
